AJ

Today was another beautiful day in Cincinnati.  Everything is starting to come back to life after a long winter.  The thing I love most about this area is the river and all of the quaint little towns along it.   I was fortunate to spend the day in one of these towns,Ludlow, KY today.  I had a shoot with my friend's nephew, AJ.  Though he was shy at first, he opened up within minutes off we went!  We went to a local park that has a great wooden train that AJ loved.  We had a blast, he deceided today would be the first time he would try out the slide and with little hesitation went down head first.  I was laughing so hard I could barely hold my camera, it was great!

Dayton, Ky

Today was a beautiful day.  I think it is finally safe to say warm weather is here to stay.  Dave and I took our dog Cid for a long walk along the flood wall in Dayton, Ky.  Though we haven't lived in Ky for over six years, we always find ourselves going back whenever the weather gets nice.  We both grew up in Dayton so there is a memory around every corner.  I cant believe what a mess it is behind the flood wall.  I think there is going to be an invasion of condos soon...

Eli's Birthday

Yesterday was a great day!  The weather was beautiful, I think Spring is finally here. My family all got together for my nephew Eli's first birthday.  It was nice hanging out with all of the kids and seeing everybody.  My sister  Nina always looks so beautiful when she is pregnant.  This is a good thing considering she has been pregnant for the past three years!

Memories...

It always amazes me how much an image can provoke so much emotion in me.   I know I am a sappy, sentimental person, I have been this way for as long as I can remember.  I try to keep this part of me contained, but sometimes I just don't have a choice.   Looking through Grandma's old Polaroids caught my emotions completely off guard the other day.  Seeing images of my Dad as a teen and my Grandma in her stylish little outfits (of which I would borrow today if she still had them) overwhelmed me. The next thing I know the tears started flowing.  It wasn't sadness that took over, it was amazement and love.  It was seeing their life before I was born, seeing them so young and happy,  seeing  myself in Grandma's long skinny arms and in Dad's tiny smiley eyes.  This is why I love what I do.   I hope someone, someday is overwhelmed with the same joy I felt by the images I have taken of their family!

These are some images inspired by Gram's Polaroids.
RIP Polaroid film.

Senior Pictures

Yesterday I did a practice Senior shoot with Natalie, my step sister.  I am thankful to have so many pretty girls in the family to use as models.  I will be shooting her real Senior portraits when the weather gets warmer, so it was fun throwing ideas around.

Livvy

Today I got to spend the day with my youngest sister, Livvy.  We either go shopping or do a photoshoot when we are together and it is always a blast!  She is growing into a very beautiful young woman, I am lucky to have such a wonderful model to practice on.  Thanks Liv!
